  • Mixing concrete.

  • Backfilling underground utility work.

Name
Silica Sand

Description

Uses
  • Sand blasting (bags only).

  • Mixing in stucco

  • Golf course sand traps

Name
Fill Sand

Composition
A natural blend of dirt, clay and sand that is not processed.

Description
This is a material used primarily for fill.  It has not been processed so it can be fairly clumpy.  There is no organic matter added to it and it compacts very well.  Fill sand can be worked by hand, but it is not easy.  Sold by the ton.  It should be top-dressed with a processed soil before planting.

Uses
  • Backfilling holes or trenches over 12” deep.

  • Filling holes where good compaction is needed, such as where something will be built over the filled area.

  • Filling areas by hand that processed soils are too expensive for.

Name
Ball Diamond Clay

Composition
Clay and fine sand blended together.

Description
A specific mix designed for baseball diamonds.  Available unscreened or screened.  The screened has been shredded, pulverized and screened through a 1” screen.  The unscreened will have some clumps and should be used where it will be applied at least 2” thick and spread with a machine.  The product compacts very well and is sold by the ton.

Uses
  • Resurfacing baseball diamonds or bocci ball courts.

  • Filling horse stalls and paddocks

  • Anywhere a smooth, solid surface is needed.
