Topsoil
Composition
60% topsoil, 20% organic compost or humus, 20% coarse sand.  Shredded, pulverized and screened through a ¾ inch screen.
Description
This is a basic all-purpose soil.  It is easily worked by hand, and is suitable for most applications where soil is needed.  Sold by the yard.
Uses
  • This soil is best for applications where once material has been planted, it will not be disturbed.

  • Planting trees and shrubs.

  • Putting in new lawns or patching bare spots.

  • Filling low spots.

  • Finish grading.

  • Backfilling retaining walls less than 12” deep

  • Making raised mounds (when virgin soil not available)

Composition
Approximately 70% soil, 15% compost, and 15% sand. Screened through a ¾ inch screen.
Description
A basic blend very similar to the topsoil.  However, the compost is more coarse.  Because the compost texture varies, the final product will vary in appearance and texture.  Sold by the yard.
Uses

Low cost soil for finish grading large areas.  Suitable for applications where consistent product is not required.  Excellent for commercial sites where

40% topsoil, 30% organic compost or humus, 30% coarse sand. Shredded, pulverized and screened through ¾ inch screen.
Description
A top quality all-purpose soil.  It is rich in nutrients and the sand will help resist compaction.  The pH is 6-8.  This soil is rich enough to support delicate flowers, and strong enough to allow solid rooting of trees and shrubs.  Sold by the yard.
Uses
  • This soil is best for areas that contain a mix of plant types.

  • Flower beds

  • Renovating poor soil conditions

  • Adding to existing flowerbeds or gardens

30% topsoil, 30% organic compost or humus, 20% coarse sand. 20% pea sized silica gravel.  Shredded, pulverized and screened through a ¾ inch screen.
Description
This is a premium soil.  The high organic content makes it very rich for growing plants.  The gravel helps the material hold moisture which means watering less often.  The sand and gravel both keep the soil loose and workable.  Sold by the yard.
Uses
  • This soil is best in areas where it will be continually worked.

  • Vegetable and annual gardens.

  • Flower pots and planters

  • Greenhouses

Composition
50% course sand, 50% organic compost or humus.  Screened through a ½ inch screen.
Description
This is a blend created specifically for topdressing existing lawns to make the grass thicker.  The blend will allow new seed to germinate without smothering existing grass.  Sold by the yard.
Uses

Topdressing over existing lawns.

Fill Dirt
Composition
Primarily clay.
Description
This is a rough fill for use in large holes.  It consists of whatever is dug out of the ground naturally.  Our Fill dirt is clean, but it can contain some sticks, rocks, and roots.  It is not workable by hand and must be topdressed to plant anything in it.  It is sold by the yard.
Uses
  • Filling in large holes over 2 feet deep.

  • Filling old basements or swimming pools.

  • Rough grading work.

  • Remember, a machine is needed to move it.

Ball Diamond Clay
Composition
Clay and fine sand blended together. 
Description

A specific mix designed for baseball diamonds.  Available unscreened or screened.  The screened has been shredded, pulverized and screened through a 1” screen.  The unscreened will have some clumps and should be used where it will be applied at least 2” thick and spread with a machine.  The product compacts very well and is sold by the ton.

Uses
  • Resurfacing baseball diamonds or bocci ball courts.

  • Filling horse stalls and paddocks

  • Anywhere a smooth, solid surface is needed.
